Progress!

Well, have used my IWB for different things this week, with success! The kids love the roll in the morning, and are getting more familar with the board. Using a flipcart to order instructions was great. Had a few issues with getting things to go properly, which turned out to be plugs in the wrong place ect, so while embarressing(sorry Della!) I learned from it!

This week I'm using digital cameras tied in with reading and writing, hopefully with kids photos and recordings of thier comments as a class resource on the IWB at the end. Maybe I could put it onto the room 2 blog when set up. I need to get used to doing things that aren't on immediate display in the classroom and think about ways to revisit work done this way.

My other goal this week is to remember to use the board for 'on the run' whole classs teaching, such as spelling, or a mind map.

  1. Hi Amy, Great to read your experiences integrating ICT.
I too am trying to make optimal use of the IWB. Have so far used it for Roll (flip chart) and Instructions ( writing flip chart) in a reading rotation and shared writing using the Jenny Ether website.

Last week as a class we explored http://readingecb.org and the children were all very excited at the shared reading. It was fantastic to explore the reading strategies together and the site has some good resources for teachers. Check it out :-)
    Thanks for sharing your experiences.
